A direct data pipeline feeds automated reconciliation checks, as well as oversight dashboards and performance metrics.

Overview

The productized connection between Veeva eCOA with Veeva DQS replaces manual, batch-based data transfers with an automated data pipeline. Rather than relying on custom API middleware to ingest electronic source data, Veeva eCOA utilizes scheduled transfers of manifest files to push patient data directly into DQS. Once the initial data mappings and export specifications are configured, this automated pipeline ensures that eCOA data seamlessly updates DQS oversight dashboards and completeness metrics on a regular basis.

Each new arrival of COA data can trigger the execution of automated reconciliation checks of incoming data against your data review objectives. Automated ingestion and reconciliations of eCOA data reduce the burden of manual checks and provide data managers with dynamic, near real-time visibility into patient compliance and COA performance.

How it Works

  • eCOA datasets are mapped to a common study backbone using study ID, site ID, and subject ID as lightweight relational keys.
  • ata transfers are scheduled directly within Veeva eCOA export settings, at a frequency of up to every six hours.
  • Once aligned to the backbone, data managers execute checks across eCOA, EDC, or non-EDC sources to flag discrepancies, trigger queries, or reconcile data.
  • Autochecks automatically reconcile shared metadata, such as a subject’s year of birth, upon data arrival.

Business Benefits

  • Eliminates manual reconciliations

Saves data managers time by executing automated checks continuously as eCOA data arrives.

  • Provides near real-time oversight

Dynamically updates performance metrics and RBQM oversight dashboards without waiting for manual batch uploads.

  • Streamlines formatting and analysis

Ensures eCOA data is always available, correctly formatted, and harmonized with the EDC structure to maximize data readiness for interim analyses.
